The Republican Party (one wonders why) still retains under its cacophonous tent quiet, sensible, intelligent and personable personalities such as Governor John Kasich of Ohio and Governor Nicki Haley of South Carolina. Proven within the gubernatorial milieu, they would give any Democratic presidential candidate a run for his/her money – and might conceivably edge out him/her in the Electoral College. This is particularly true in the case of Kasich; whoever takes Ohio usually wins the election. The fact that South Carolina is a big primary state would up the ante for Haley.

During its 15-year or so existence, Sin Dios (Without God) was a very well-known anarchist hardcore-punk band from Madrid, not only for its music, but also for its members' active participation in social movements and strict adherence to the "do-it-yourself" lifestyle. The band could've easily "sold out" to a mainstream record label –it was that famous– but instead, it remained "underground," successfully producing its own records and tours.

Within the past few days, there have been news reports anticipating a change in air travel ID requirements. There are indications that, in the near future, plain IDs such as a driver's license may be insufficient. There are hints that some travelers may be required to present a passport.

This is a letter received from Douglas M. Hughes regarding his challenge to Debbie Wasserman Schultz
On April 15 2015, I landed a gyroplane on the lawn of the US Capitol. The cargo in two mail trays strapped to the landing gear was 535 stamped letters, one addressed to each member of Congress. The letter also describes the reason for my candidacy. In this election, I intend for Representative Schultz to respond to my letter. In the 2018 election, I intend for EVERY incumbent member of the US House of Representatives to respond to the issue of corruption or be replaced.

In The Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam, it is expressed thusly:
Now the New Year reviving old Desires.
The thoughtful Soul to Solitude retires,
Where the White Hand Of Moses on the Bough
Puts out, and Jesus from the Ground suspires.

Dear Senator Bernie Sanders,
First and foremost, thank you for your life of public service and work in the US Senate and elsewhere. More than anything, perhaps, my wish is for the intelligence and humanitarian vision you express to realize itself in the Oval Office.

Dear Mr. Trump,
It has occurred to me that when you are elected president there will be a gap in your company. You will be in need of an executive to run your corporation. Please accept this letter as my resume for consideration for the position of President, The Trump Organization . I am sure you will find that I have the right qualifications for the job. Number one – I am a nice person. I give a lot of money away, to charities and other things. I think I'm a very nice person. I am also a mom and I have the ability to say, "Go to time out.", in a very loud and obnoxious tone. This is very similar to "You're fired."

I have a couple of questions. But before I ask them I need to do some 'set-up'.
OK, I understand it is largely due to the US destabilization of the Middle East back in 2003 - when we invaded Iraq - that the U.S. can be called the major contributing factor in the creation of ISIS (or ISIL or Daesh or whatever). When we disbanded the Iraqi military, we left hundreds of thousands of highly trained, heavily armed, pissed off people wandering the country side wondering how they were going to feed their families and/or simply survive. It's no surprise this group was the beginning of the insurgency that turned the Iraq war into the quagmire it became. Then, over time it morphed into al-Qaeda's meaner nastier sibling that we're dealing with now. We own that. That is something we must take with us no matter what happens.
