Cuba’s history began when Christopher Columbus, after partially sailing around its endless coastline, pronounced it to be the mainland of Cathay (China). He never set foot on mainland North America. As a late-late comer, British/USA North America’s history in some ways parallels and intersects with that of Cuba’s. Both nations exploited human beings and immersed the importance of that exploitation in telling the story of their evolution. Both tales are black, white and grey in substance; those involved are also Black, White and other people of varied combinations of ethnicity.

I'm sorry I didn't say hello back to you when you said hi to me in the parking lot today. I heard you mumble, "Rude.", under your breath as you walked away. Yes, I know it seemed that I was being rude and unfriendly and, whether you believe me or not, I felt bad about being unfriendly. I didn't even raise my eyes from the ground. I may not be able to know if you will actually read this but maybe other men will and understand why some women aren't friendly when men we don't know are friendly to us. It's not personal.
The story of my addiction is exactly like that of every addict, meaning it is completely different from that of every other addict. So I will tell it in order to let those still suffering know that there is hope...
I was a little hippie kid in the late ‘60’s. As such I had experimented with all the drugs typical of the era. I drank beer and liquor, smoked pot, tried uppers and downers and the full range of psychedelics. There was no lasting harm from any of them as alcohol made me stupid and I never was with that. Marijuana was actually helpful at times and still is. Amphetamines were unattractive and made me way too jittery. Barbiturates simply made me want to sleep. LSD and mushrooms helped me see the world in new ways with no regrets.
