It is not unusual for me to receive a snail-mail letter from my friend Dr. Vincent Jubilee, resident in San Juan, Puerto Rico. He is still resisting the Digital Revolution. Vincent is a family friend from Philadelphia. After decades, we had a reunion in Puerto Rico, where he was a professor of English at the University of Puerto Rico.

As I walk (or drive) around I am constantly finding things that make me stop, reach for the camera and record them. Now, some things are obvious and scream out "shoot this" and would speak to just about anyone. A gorgeous sunset, a Red-Winged Black Bird perched precariously on a swaying cattail. Some things however, seem to speak to me more-so than others. I can't explain why these things. Here are some of them. Nothing I sought out, just some things I found.

The stage-management of it all might have been a conspiracy of nature and the departed personage himself. As the shocked, disbelieving throngs seemingly, are mechanically drawn to the Paisley Park palace, a soft rain of insinuated, purple passion pelted down upon them piteously. Then, as if to consecrate the passing of this brief, frenzied existence, suddenly a rainbow doth appear, converting every tear into a spectrum of its own, multi-hued audacity.
