It is not enough that we impeach Trump, we’ve already done that, twice.
Even if we did it a third time and assuming that this time we could actually convict and imprison him, that would leave all of his handpicked sycophants in place to continue the destruction of our nation and the world.
What we must do is have a type of Nuremberg trial for him and his entire cabinet…
In other words, a clean sweep!
Article II, Section 4 of the U.S. Constitution states that the President, Vice President, and all civil officers of the United States shall be removed from office upon impeachment for, and conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors. This clause establishes the process of impeachment which serves as a mechanism for holding federal officials accountable for serious abuses of power or violations of the law.
Key Components of the Clause
- Who can be impeached: The clause applies to the President, Vice President, and any "civil Officers of the United States".
- Grounds for impeachment: The impeachable offenses are defined as Treason, Bribery, and "other high Crimes and Misdemeanors".
- Consequences of conviction: A conviction through the impeachment process results in removal from office.
The Impeachment Process
- Impeachment (House of Representatives): The House of Representatives initiates the process by filing articles of impeachment, which are essentially charges against the official.
- Conviction (Senate): If the House impeaches an official, the Senate holds a trial.
- Removal A two-thirds vote in the Senate is required to convict and remove the official from office
A Call to Action: Defend Democracy Together
The challenge before us is not just about one man — it’s about a movement that threatens to undermine the very foundation of our democracy. Removing one figure without addressing those who enable and echo his actions would only allow the same dangers to rise again, perhaps stronger than before.
Our Founders understood that power must always be accountable to the people. That’s why they included in the Constitution a safeguard — Article II, Section 4, which allows for the impeachment and removal of any President, Vice President, or civil officer who commits Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.
But the Constitution alone is not enough. It gives us the tools — we must provide the will.
The impeachment process is deliberate and difficult by design. It begins in the House of Representatives, where articles of impeachment are introduced and voted on. If passed, the process moves to the Senate, where a two-thirds vote is required for conviction and removal.
That’s why our votes matter now more than ever. To hold leaders accountable, we must first elect representatives who will uphold the rule of law, the truth, and the principles of justice.
So starting today — register, vote, and get every person you know to do the same. Talk to friends, family, neighbors, coworkers. Help them understand what’s at stake.
This is not just about politics. It’s about protecting the Republic our Founders entrusted to us — a government of, by, and for the people.
The power to change the course of history lies in our hands. Let’s rise to the moment.
