Natural & Found Art Photography
A really good photo shouldn’t need a caption. It should speak for itself. It should evoke a feeling, a mood, a question, a reaction in the viewer. That’s what I’m always looking for, the shot that says so much more than the others.
What’s my story? I’m not a professional photographer. My equipment is not state-of-the-art. I’m not doing this for the money ( but money would be nice ). What I am, is someone who’s obsessed with capturing images from my immediate surroundings. Writers are always advised to write about what they know. This is what I know.
I was born and raised in working class Milwaukee. I moved to a small town about an hour outside the city because it seemed like a good place to raise my daughter and I’m not a fan of suburbs. I drive to work (a job in advertising) through countryside that was carved out by receding glaciers which left lakes and kettles and hills - a region known as the Kettle Moraine of South Eastern, Wisconsin.
So that’s my beat. I keep my camera bag with me when ever I can and am frequently late for work because I had to stop and shoot the morning frost (it won’t be there later!) I love rusty, weathered, lonely, abandoned, twilight, fleeting scenes.

Just before the election is probably not the best time to post a photo essay. Then again if you (like me) try to tune out the final few days and...

It's been a long dreary winter here and frankly I've had enough of it. I'm ready for something different. I shouldn't complain, it's not like it was when I was...

With June coming to a close, I feel like the spring we look forward to so much in this climate was gone in a flash. Winter lingers, but spring pops...

Summer in Wisconsin is humid, hot, dry mostly, and the intense green of few weeks ago is broken up with some yellows and maybe even the occasional red (no!) The...

My favorite time of day. Just before it's too dark to get a photo of anything but maybe a full moon.

Spring is the theme. Random observations from the last couple weeks of living. Spring is nature's way of saying - 'it's on'!
Waiting for the action!
